Heading Out

Hello all! We will be heading out from Mount Vernon on Saturday July 4th at 5 AM. If you are an early riser you are welcome to join us at the courthouse parking lot for the send off. Otherwise- a prayer for our traveling while you are snuggled in bed will be appreciated too!

We plan to stop in Huntsville, AL at the Trinity UMC for the night on Saturday. They have been gracious enough to open their gym for our group as we travel to Slidell. We will be heading out Sunday morning at 8 AM to continue the trip to Slidell. Tim Horton's in Mount Vernon is helping out with breakfast Sunday morning. Bagels...Yum! We hope to arrive in Slidell around 2 PM.

Please pray for snow...or at least cool weather while we are down there. Also, prayers for safety and unity of the group. We hope to be patient with eachother while we work and we pray for understanding of the situation in Slidell. We will try and update the blog as often as possible. We would welcome any comments on the blog. Words of encouragement, prayers, thoughts on our work. Comments will be passed on to the group.

Thank you so much for all the support this year as we planned our trip to Louisiana. Our cup runneth over!
