New Orleans here we come

Miss Gail with Mr. Yates at his FEMA trailer. Lauren with Mr. Yates. The Chupacabras built out the windows, started reinforcing the railing and finished sanding and mudding throughout the apartment. We also found two snakes skins in a drawer. We don't know where the snakes are and decided not to look for them.

This morning we returned to our original worksite where Meghan explains site progress to Julia, NOAH staff, while Jon receives guidance on the project. Jon, Allison, Arie, and Joe clean up the foundation footers following the previous night's rain. Jon and Joe discuss drainage with NOAH staff.

After working hard in the morning as shown here during a hydration break. The group sanding in the homeless shelter of Catherine, Olivia, Calvin and Janelle have just about finished this room. Gavin and Simon have been working with Hal hanging drywall in the stairway leading to the second floor. Robert and Brynne worked taping and finishing in the hallway. Hadleigh and Jason were working in the front 2 rooms sanding and applying the final coats of mud to the walls.

After our half day we went to New Orleans and did a driving tour of the city and then went to have dinner. We rode the trolley car to Julia St. and had dinner at Mulate's. You can see some of the food we had. There was a live band at 7:00 it was a great cultural experience and some great food.
